Words I like to say

Haboob. Tittabawassee. Titicaca. Plethora. Williwaw. Superfluity.

Go ahead. Look ’em up. They’re all legitimate words or place names.

Try saying these words yourself. They roll off your tongue, and you may find yourself repeating them for the sheer fun of it.

Even better than just saying them to yourself, try working them into casual conversation. Try working all of them into a conversation with the same person. I’m starting to giggle thinking about that one.

Can you tell it was a long cool summer here?

    • Yes, those are great names too. The list I posted was short and sweet, but really there are a plethora of words/names out there. Another fun thing to ponder…when you’re doing some activity that allows for this type of mind ramble…is the current buzz words. Ever notice how there are corporate buzz words that you see pop up everywhere? Or words in news stories? Some word or phrase comes into fashion, and suddenly you hear it everywhere.

      Thanks for reading! Sheila

  1. Tittabawassee!! Is such a fun word to say – and so is K-K-Kalamazoo :).
I often wonder about new citizens acclimating to the English language with our many words from many cultures and more than a few with multiple meanings. There, their and they’re? Good luck with that.
Fun post .. and I like the new layout – light, bright and welcoming,

    • Michigan has a nice number of interesting names, doesn’t it?! The influence of French and Native American languages is evident in so many names there.

Glad you like the new format. I have to change it up a bit from time to time, as I notice you do too! I figure if I’m getting bored with my look, others may be too. It’s like painting a room…freshens everything, and makes me smile! Sheila

  2. Hello Grace,

My name is Catherine, I was reading your blog and I like your writing style, nice sense of humor and you have some really interesting articles. Also I’m impressed by your blog’s nice and clean presentation. You have a fun world here.

That is why I would love to add your blog in the blog directory that I admin. It’s a high web traffic, Page Rank 5 blog directory named Blogdire, http://www.blogdire.com, it’s visit count grows exponentially every day and has high quality gained by listing great blogs like yours, because it does not have advertisement nor pop-ups.

Having your blog listed in my directory, will definitely improve its page rank in search engines, (like Google), and you will have many visits to leave nice comments and feedback, and of course, more people to enjoy your blog and share your interests.

In exchange of becoming part of the directory, all I ask is a simple link to my other site, I can assure you, the operation is extremely simple and there is no money involved.

Let me know if you are interested and what you think.

    Kind regards,
